Client/Trainer Progress

During the last couple of months, I have had the privlige of training my client SS.  This has been a learning experience as it the first client I have trained.  We discussed the goals my client wanted to achieve, and completed a series of fitness tests to establish a baseline for further evaluation.

My clients goals were to maintain strength and increase his cardio and core strenght.  I focused the program around achieving my clients goals and providing a well rounded workout schedule.  SS has worked hard over the last couple of months, and as a result he has shown improvement across the board.  Push-ups and squats have increased drmaticly, I have also recorded an increse in plank times and the bike test.

I have enjoyed getting to know SS over the last couple of months, this has been a great learning experience.  I am sure we will continue to work together and learn from one another.

Personal Training Philosophy

As a fitness promoter I believe I am a role model for those who wish to live a happier, healthier lifestyle.  There are three main aspects to fucus on in order to achieve this.  First is mental health, this includes confidence in yourself and making decisions that benifitt you instead of hold you back.  Second is physical, being in shape makes a huge difference in your day to day mood and over all attitude about life.  Last is spirituality, it is important to know who you are and what you want in order to achieve your goals.

Balance between mind, body and soul is the secret behined achieving your goals and making your dreams areality.

Bad Habits

Everyone one has bad habits, the trick is to realize the negative affects the habits can have on your health and quality of life.  I am going to go over some common bad habbits and list some negative effects they can have on your quality of life.

#1 Smoking
Cigarettes are the single most traded item on the planet.  They contain toxins and chemicals that harm our bodies, and as one of the biggest industries they bring in over 400 billion dollars every year.  Smoking increases the risk of developing some serious health problems such as coronary heart disease, cancer, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.  Cigarettes coat your lungs with tar, preventing your lungs from absorbing the oxygen needed.

#2 Junk Food
In todays scociety peole have become comfortable with the idea of quick and easy.  When it comes to your diet, quick and easy is not the anwer.  Most of the foods we eat are loaded with sugar and/or sodium.  Eating refined sugar only provides your body with temporary energy, it does not give you body the nutrients that it needs.  When that enrgy is gone there is nothing left for your body to use.  Your body also loses the ability to burn 'fat as fuel', which ultimatly leads to wait gain.
A lot of people in north america have high sodium diets as well.  It is true that the human body needs approx. 500 mg of salt everyday, but too much can cause problems to your health.  Too much salt can cause abnormal heart develpment, and is one reason for high blood pressuere, which can lead to many heart and coranary health problems.  Other effects of too much salt: kidney disorders, digestive deseases, cloged arteries and dehydration.  So stay away from too much sugar and salt!
